26th Annual World Championship Steak Cook-off in Magnolia, Arkansas on May 16, 2015
This year Spinelli will be participating in the 26th Annual World Championship Steak Cook-off in beautiful Magnolia, Arkansas on May 16th! A total of $10,000 in prize money will be up for grabs, as well as over 4,000 mouthwatering Rib-eye steaks grilled to perfection! We will be transporting our 3,000 lbs mobile wood fire oven and competing against some of the best steak grill masters across America. Our team will be traveling over 1,600 miles there and 1,600 miles back, nearly 50 hours of travel time.
Each year there are over 4,000 steaks cooked in the town square in the middle of Magnolia, Arkansas. I cannot even imagine the smell in the air when more than 80 grills of all shapes and sizes begin the cook-off. As always, this year’s steaks will be 16oz. Rib-eyes, provided by Certified Angus Beef Brand steaks. Certified Angus Beef brand is the only Angus Brand endorsed and monitored by the American Angus Association’s 28,000 cattle ranchers.
The winning team will take home the Governor’s Cup, prize money and tremendous bragging rights, and that’s what we are going for; to be the best! Trophies and prize money will also be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th runner ups. We will also be competing in different competition categories of parade, showmanship and pit construction. In addition, we will be competing in the 5th Annual Southern Title & Closing Appetizer Challenge featuring our Citrus Wood Fired Shrimp. There’s nothing like some good shrimp with your steak!

Father’s Day Special at Squidco in San Diego, CA on June 20, 2015
Being an avid fisherman and having the love to cook whole fish in the wood fire oven, Squidco is a must have resource for the Spinelli team. Once again Spinelli will be handing out gourmet pizzas at Squidco on Father’s Day. Last year we featured our Sicilian tuna, black olive, and rustic onion with a touch of spicy olive oil pizza. 12th Annual San Diego Bay Food & Wine Festival on November 21, 2015
Once again Spinelli will be featuring their edible delights at the premier food festival in Southern California. Over 10,000 guests from all over come together in the beautiful San Diego sun on the bay in the Embarcadero to enjoy food and spirits from all over; making it the place to be without a doubt. This will be the fifth year that Mario Maruca will be compete in the Chef of the Fest Competition. Last year Mario and Spinelli received great reviews for his unique pizza: Bone Marrow, Quail Egg, and Fig Preserve. Come down this year, see and taste what delight Mario will be pulling out of his mobile wood fire oven plus all the other wonderful food and drinks that will be offered.
